Every person has the inherent ability to grow, heal and transform their lives. My name is Jayme Richards and I provide therapy for individuals and couples using a mindfulness lens. My areas of expertise include trauma, anxiety, and depression. I work with all forms of trauma including: complex, sexual, verbal abuse, physical abuse, bullying, religious, medical, institutional and race/ethnicity based. Other areas of knowledge include working with sexuality concerns, body image issues, life transitions, self-acceptance, and ADHD management. I mostly work with individuals but also see couples with alternative relationship structures.
My therapeutic approach integrates mindfulness based therapies Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Other techniques that are often integrated into my practice include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). All techniques are seen through a sex positive lens.
I am personally LGBTQA+ and neurodivergent proud. Over my last eighteen years as a social worker, I have gained valuable experience working with diverse populations on assorted issues. Regardless of your concern, I will work in partnership with you to find possible solutions.
