As a dual-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse and Pediatric, I bring over a decade of experience in pediatric healthcare to my role in outpatient mental health. Originally from California, I’ve called Colorado home for nearly 20 years allowing me to develop deep roots in this community.
The majority of my journey in healthcare has been at Children’s Hospital Colorado, where I spent more than 15 years as a nurse and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in inpatient pediatrics and the newborn nursery. This experience has given me a profound understanding of children’s health needs and family dynamics.
Recently, I’ve expanded my expertise by becoming certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. At Metis Center for Psychological Services I am excited to offer psychiatric medication management and brief therapy for both children and adults. This comprehensive approach allows me to provide holistic care that addresses both the biological and psychological aspects of mental health. Additionally, I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and I have a particular interest and training in perinatal mood support.
As a mother of three school-age children, I am intimately familiar with the challenges facing families today. This personal perspective, combined with my professional experience, allows me to offer compassionate, understanding care to parents and children alike. Having an adult brother with autism has given me valuable insights into the lifelong journey of neurodiverse individuals and their families. This personal connection, combined with my experience working with neurodiverse people, allows me to offer empathetic and informed care to individuals across the neurodiversity spectrum.
My goal is to utilize my diverse skill set to support the mental health and well-being of families in our community. I look forward to bringing my passion for integrative practices and family-centered care to my new role at Metis.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and three children. You might find me out on walks with my friends and my dog, driving my children around town or practicing Pilates.
