Coherence Therapy
Coherence therapy is not an approach that seeks to diagnose you with one condition or another. It is a method that can help you navigate the resolution of tough situations you might face in life. It has been used successfully to relieve participants of a variety of psychological struggles, including:
- Anxiety and depression
- Feelings of under-achievement
- Relationship struggles
- Difficult or unsuccessful life transitions
- Agoraphobia
- Chronic Loneliness
- And many more
Central to this counseling approach is the belief that people cling to coping methods which have worked for them before—even if those methods are no longer successful or aren’t applicable to the current situation. We keep these methods around because they are comfortable to us even if they aren’t helping us. Often, these are skills that we depended on during some critical time in our past and the areas of our brain which only hold on to emotional realities just can’t let go of the security that those old habits provide. Revisiting these coping methods and training the mind to accept new ones can really help to break the vicious cycles we can fall into, like the ones listed above.
At our offices in Boulder, Colorado, we are excited to explore the benefits that coherence therapy can have on your life experience. With a combination of this approach and other cognitive behavioral therapies, we believe we can accomplish a myriad of life changes that will help you grow as a person.
